We are the University of Virginia’s Enactus team,
using social entrepreneurship and consulting to empower the Charlottesville community.

Turn ideas into action.

We have seven local projects that let you meet with clients face to face and work on real problems with real solutions. Each of our projects is different. You could learn how to market a business, or help local homeless people find employment. You could start something new and lead a team of your own. No matter what project you join, you’ll learn how to work with a team to make a real impact in our community. We also have other general membership opportunities to work with local startups and social ventures.

Join the global Enactus community.

Enactus is an international organization at 1,500 universities around the world. Each spring, we head to the Enactus National Exposition. We compete against hundreds of other Enactus teams from across the country to see who was best able to empower and impact their community. The winner goes on to represent the United States in the Enactus World Cup.
Here are some of the projects we've been working on:
High School Case Competition
High School Case Competition (HSCC) works to give back to the community through the use of free student run consulting services. Each year the competition gives an opportunity to high school students to gain real life exposure in the consulting field by organizing a case competition at McIntire School of Commerce. The project team works side by side with local Charlottesville businesses to come up with the case that asks for the best method to improve that business either financially or through new forms of exposure. Related tasks for the team include business relations, securing the sponsorship, event planning, budgeting and strategic cost management.
Women in Entrepreneurship
Women in Entrepreneurship assists local businesses run by female entrepreneurs with various aspects of business development. This year, the client is Modatrova (www.modatrova.com), a fashion startup founded by a 4th year Commerce student. Fashion designers upload their designs, people vote for their favorites, then only the top designs go into production and displayed on the e-commerce website. Bridging the gap between designers and shoppers, Modatrova serves as a platform for designers and customers to optimize the fashion experience.
Tranlin, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Shandong Tranlin Paper Co., Ltd. The company is an international pioneer in the development of environmentally-friendly technologies that applies innovative proprietary technologies to deliver 100% straw paper products and organic fertilizers. This venture is backed by the $2 billion investment announced on June 18th, 2014 by Governor McAuliffe and widely reported by national media and local newspapers. Tranlin started with a team of most capable and entrepreneurial professional managers and is striving to bring the innovative technology and eco-friendly products to the U.S. market.
